Editing Cometfall

While the [[Companions of the Rising Sun]] were occupied with the [[Ceremony of Union]], in the adventure [[Ceremony, with Occasional Vampires]], the [[Jade Imperium]] launched a preemptive strike against orcish forces in the Star Islands.

Acting on intelligence gathered from their scrying, and predictions and prophecy, the leadership of the Imperium determined that the Orcish forces had been united under the banner of one, very powerful creature, who had also brought tribes of other monster races into the fold. They were planning on launching an attack against the mainland very soon, and possessed numbers and power enough to invade most of the continent, decimate the population, and hold it.

Tapping once again into the power stored in the [[Spellpool]], they caused a city-sized piece of rock to fall from the sky, decimating the central island, killing the command structure, and inciting a tsunami of serious large proportions.  The tidal wave washed out most of the outer islands, which destroyed their crops and all the infrastructure created to support the army. In one bold, incredibly powerful stroke, the Tower thoroughly eliminated a threat which, left unchecked, could have caused generations of warfare.  In the aftermath of this, the Islands were renamed the [[Shattered Isles]].

They also used the event to declare their presence, and strength, to the world, and in particular the government of Crescent. Utilizing an innovative magical spell developed by [[Tollerath the Younger]] called Jumbo-Tron-o-Vision, they broadcast the event, complete with play-by-play and color commentary, to all the major cities in the world of Crescent. 

There were some unintended side effects, however.  Displaced by the tidal wave, refugees from the island poured into the mainland, creating a tent city around the walls of [[Maxaen]] that was many times the size of the city itself.  Seeking to bring aid to the starving and sick orcs surrounding her city, [[Dame Aelen Wyer]] defied her orders, blew a hole in the city walls, and inadvertently ascended as the [[:Category:Avatars|Avatar]] of the goddess [[Nevari]].
