What is certainly true is that, upon activation, the magical ball lights up and then dispenses a small slip of parchment, on which is printed a fortune - a forecasting of the future, a piece of advice, or a profundity of some sort. Interesting, but ultimately useless. Discovered by the [[Companions of the Rising Sun]] on their [[Bad Moon Waning]] adventure; sold to [[V'raag]] in [[Haven]] shortly thereafter.
