The forces of [[Pelor]] in the city of [[Maxaen]] once included a group of dedicated healers and warriors whose primary duty was to protect the injured and bring them back for healing to [[Dame Aelen Wyer]]'s Order of the [[Merciful Light]]. They were known as the Riders of Mercy, and were respected and feared by all who encountered them, for they routinely placed themselves in harm's way. Something changed when Dame Wyer ascended. The Riders of Mercy are now known as the [[Guardians of the Sacred Hearth]], and though they perform the same duties - protecting the wounded and the healers of Maxaen - they now do so in the name of Nevari and of mercy itself. When Nevari ascended, she made all the members of the Riders [[paladin]]s or [[cleric]]s in her name, taking them from the ranks of [[Pelor]] along with the more spellcraft-focused [[cleric]]s in the Merciful Light. New paladins have also been called to her and inducted into the Guardians. [[Category: Orders of Nevari]] [[Category: Organizations]]
