Situated in the [[Iron Hills]], below [[Fallen Hand Pass]], the Setting Star Gate is the first line of defense for the mystical [[City-State of Haven]]. In appearance, it is an ornate, stone archway, carved in a style dating back to the reign of [[King Edvard IX]]. It is large enough for two wagons abreast to pass through with room to spare, and does not seem to have weathered with age. Unless the user knows the secret of activating the gate, it seems to lead to a dead-end box canyon of no use whatsoever. The gate is only usable at dawn each day, and it requires a key to activate. Most keys are single-use, their magic being consumed with use. Some merchants are known to have multiple-use keys. All keys are attuned to their users. [[Baelwren SummerStorm]] had a single-use key, in the form of a red-gold ring which was also a ring of mind shielding. It was destroyed when she guided the [[Companions of the Rising Sun]] to Haven. If a traveler has, and is attuned to, a key, and is there at dawn, they see a road leading up the mountain to a city half-hidden in the clouds. [[Category: Places]]
