Editing Shattered Isles

Little is known about this archipelago, off the southern coast of the continent of Crescent, as it is the domain of the monster races.  Though the [[halfling|halflings]] control the [[Sea of Shadows]] and most of the outer sea, the orcs in their square-sailed outrigger boats are a ferocious enemy, and permit no other race to sail the sea around the islands.

In Sun Year 1331 a scout reported that a strong, non-orcish leader, who had united several islands worth of tribes, is leading the new Orcish offensive. The rest of the message was lost.

On Sunday, 23 Fidelity, 1337, the [[Jade Imperium]], in an action that has come to be known as [[Cometfall]], caused a huge chunk of rock to fall from the sky and strike the very center of the Islands. This appears to have obliterated the main encampment of the Orcish forces, who, according to the [[Jade Tower]], were poised to overrun the continent of [[Crescent]]. The main island itself, at the center of the archipelago, was split asunder, and is now four islands, with a large lagoon between.

Refugees - mostly the infirm and orcish children - have streamed onto the mainland after the resulting tidal wave washed most of their crops and homes into the sea.  This led directly to the ascension of [[Dame Aelen Wyer]] as the avatar of [[Nevari]].
