Shinn was one of the most powerful figures in the days around the [[Scarlet War]]. He invented and led the forces of the [[Spellsword]]s, fearsome arcane warriors, earning for himself the title of Warlord. Master of the [[Lighthouse at Windy Point]], he was the last of the Master Wizards to fall to the Army of the Light, led by Lord Marshal [[Valanthe Amakiir]] and Field Marshal [[Carline Bright-Eyes]]. According to the [[Amber Dragon]], in [[An Alternate History - The Scarlet War]], he was actually a rebel from the [[College of Mages]], going against the wishes of their council and choosing to fight directly with the forces of Pelor. It is definitely known that he raised an army of undead as part of his resistance effort, damning himself in the process. This is chronicled in [[Dark Tide Rising]], by [[Davilan the Scribe]] Shinn isn't dead. He belongs in the undead people category, more specifically in the "really powerful lich that will kill you dead and rip your face off" category.
