This character class is available with the following notes:

Alignment: Monks may be of any alignment, though that may be restricted if they are part of an organization such as the Fist of Reverence

Monastic Traditions[edit]

The Way of the Open Hand[edit]

(PHB)
Taught by a number of monasteries, most notably the Monastery of the Intercepting Fist, in Luminaux.
Most monasteries that teach this style are associated with the Order of the Fist of Reverence, one of the orders of Pelor.

The Way of Shadow[edit]

(PHB)
Available at the Chapel of the Mind, in the City-State of Haven, where a few students carry on the traditions of Master Laughing Crane.
Also available from the Way of the Mystic Hand, a group of ex-Fists based out of the Jade Tower.
The two groups are not affiliated.

The Way of the Four Elements[edit]

(PHB)
Taught solely by the Monastery of the Tempestuous Sea, in Wild's Reef.
This monastery is affiliated with the Order of the Fist of Reverence, one of the orders of Pelor.

The Way of the Drunken Master[edit]

(Xanathar's)
Not so much a school as a lifestyle, this is available without a teacher.

The Way of the Kensei[edit]

(Xanathar's)
Only taught by the Order of the Legacy of the Mind and Heart, where it is often paired with Samurai style Fighter training.

The Way of the Sun Soul[edit]

(Xanathar's)
Several monasteries affiliated with the Order of the Fist of Reverence teach this style instead of Open Hand.

The Way of Mercy[edit]

(Tasha's)
Only available from the Protectors of the Eternal Flame. Once part of the hierarchy of the Church of Pelor, this group is now dedicated to Nevari. They are based in the refugee camp outside Maxaen.
