Class Notes[edit]
Available as listed in the Player's Handbook.
- Halflings, of both the sea tribes and the land, are commonly rogues (of course).
- Gnomes have a fair quantity of rogues, often known as tinkers.
- The Guild of the Iron Rose often employs the more honest, or at least clever, rogues.
Roguish Archetypes[edit]
The following Roguish Archetypes are available, as noted:
- Thief (PHB)
- A classic!
- Assassin (PHB)
- Provisionally available; consult the DM.
- Arcane Trickster
- Uncommon outside the Jade Imperium and the City-State of Haven.
- Inquisitive (Xanathar's)
- Common in the merchant Houses of Luminaux.
- Mastermind (Xanathar's)
- Scout (Xanathar's)
- Swashbuckler (Xanathar's)
- The first people to fight in a lightly-armored, fencing style were fighter/rogues in Luminaux. As this style become more and more popular, it has taken on a life of its own. It is now possible to train simply as a swashbuckler from the start, maximizing the usage of light blades and light armor training.
- Training: There are a growing number of schools, both underground and fully public, teaching the dueling arts.
- The most well known are Felix and Jonathan's School of Swashbuckling and Derring-Do, and Darkthorne Academy of Swordsmanship, both in Luminaux.
- A third dueling school, the Temple of the Guiding Light, is not quite as popular with Rogues but has begun to include paladins of Pelor in its roster.
- Several of the Halfling clans have taken to the swashbuckler style, as well.
- All swashbuckler Rogues gain proficiency with Firearms
- Phantom (Tasha's)
- Masters of the gray area between light and dark, Phantom Rogues have some uncanny abilities bordering on necromancy.
- This style of rogue was created before the rise of the Church of the Sun and Moon. The Halfling Clan Chadaarth, being chased by a platoon of Dwarves, drove their entire wagon train into the shadow of Mt. Daneasus and vanished without a trace. Since then, people have spotted the clan all over the world, driving their ghost wagons against the rising of the sun.
- Being a Phantom Rogue means being one of the Halfling Clan Chadaarth, either by blood or adoption. No exceptions.
