In the center of the continent of Crescent lies a large inland sea, known by its name in the Halfling Language: Sae duChaad, or the Sea of Shadow. The halflings are mostly sailors, living on their ships and boats and maintaining a complex clan structure. They have no home-"land", but defend the sea rigorously. There are also a number of halfling nomad clans, who live like gypsies on the mainland.

Corvis is a city on the northern shore of the Sae duChaad.

Wild's Reef is a port town on the western edge of the sea.

The Island of Lost Souls also lies in the waters of the sea, near Wild's Reef.
