Once a race with a strong mystical bent, the elves turned their back on their mystical power sometime before the Scarlet War. Though they have always attempted to live in harmony with nature, it has now become something of an obsession with most elves. There are some, though, who choose to turn their backs on the natural world, and instead live as city dwellers and merchants.
Elven Naming Conventions[edit]
Elves, Dwarves and Gnomes all follow a similar pattern for their family names. It's very frequently AdjectiveNoun, but what types of Nouns are used differ.
Elven nouns are almost always natural - Leaf, Deer, etc. Example Elven family names are FallenLeaf, GreyDove, RedLeaf, RunningDeer, etc. Elven women do not change their name when married, and children take their mother's family name.
Character Notes[edit]
Elves are available as player characters as described in the Player's Handbook, with the exception that drow is not an available subrace.
