Class Notes
The first people to fight in a lightly-armored, fencing style were fighter/rogues in Luminaux, who went on to develop Duelist training (and some Righteous Duelists as well).  As this style become more and more popular, it has taken on a life of its own.  It is now possible to train simply as a swashbuckler from the start, maximizing the usage of light blades and light armor training.
As swashbuckler from Complete Warrior with the following notes:
;Training:There are a growing number of schools, both underground and fully public, teaching the dueling arts.
:The most well known are Felix and Jonathan's School of Swashbuckling and Derring-Do, and Darkthorne Academy of Swordsmanship, both in Luminaux.
:Several of the Halfling clans have taken to the duelist style, as well.
;School Differences:Not all schools teach exactly the same style of dueling.
:Alicia Darkthorne's students receive Uncanny Dodge instead of Acrobatic Charge. In place of the Dodge Bonus class feature, they receive an AC bonus exactly as a monk does, with the exception of using the character's Intelligence bonus instead of Wisdom bonus.
:Felix & Jonathan teach a more flashy, swashbuckling style of swordsmanship than Alicia Darkthorne. Consequently, while they also receive an AC bonus like a monk, duelists trained by them receive their Charisma bonus to AC, not their Intelligence bonus.
Note that the Duelist and Righteous Duelist prestige classes are still available - it depends on what you want for your character as to which you take.
