There are few weapons in the history of Crescent that have ever turned the tide of history. Nyctophobos, Luz Solare, Faithbrand, Dalende Ster and Wassen Ster... All are weapons of great power, yet in the hands of a normal user, these legendary weapons are simply magic items with a small enhancement bonus (usually +1 or +2, or sometimes as high as +3 for the truly powerful). But by taking levels in the scion prestige class, a character can unlock and utilize the weapon’s more advanced powers.
- As each legendary weapon is unique, and created to serve its own purpose, there is no Order or guild for their scions.
- Anyone may multi-class as a Scion, provided that they meet the entrance requirements, obtain one of the artifacts, and are chosen by that artifact as its next scion.
- Note that the Church of the Sun and Moon has in its possession at least one of the known artifact weapons, Faithbrand, the sword of Malicean. Its also plausible that there are others in the possession of the Church.
- A number of artifacts, including Dalende Ster, the Maul of the Falling Star, and its sister weapon, Wassen Ster, the Lance of the Rising Star, were believed lost when the College of Mages moved the Holy Temple at Mt. Daneasus out of time. With the return of the Temple, it is now unclear as to whether or not those items are still in the reliquary.
- Luz Solare, the Beacon of Light, is known to be in the possession of Perrin Forester. Note that the Battleblade scion class described in Swords of Our Fathers is modified slightly to work with a ranged weapon. Download Battlebow Scion
. - The whereabouts of Nyctophobos are unknown; it was last seen at the battle of Windy Point, when Pandarial fell on its edge.
