Inquisitors Snooping

Recently, the Companions were told that Inquisitors from the Order of the Eye of ORB were snooping around, looking for them. Brother Denehan informed them of this, but did not know what, exactly, the inquiry was in regards to. He did not tell the Inquisitors where the party was, or what they were doing -- largely because the party has made a point not to tell him, for precisely this reason.

There are several plausible reasons that the Inquisitors could be interested in the Companions:

• They have learned or suspect that:
  • the party is harboring an arcanist (reasonably likely)
  • the party is harboring a werewolf (unlikely)
  • a member of the party was returned from the dead, not on a High Holiday, and possibly not by ORB (very unlikely)
  • the party is harboring one of the walking (or in Lelani's case, floating) dead (pretty likely)
  • the party has been trafficking with a known associate of the Empty Circle (unlikely)

Currently, it makes the most sense to assume that they have discovered Lelani's existence.

Attack on Sunglimmer

A party or parties unknown attacked the facilities of House Sunglimmer, prompting Lady Dara to activate an evacuation and defensive plan devised for just such an occasion. It also caused her to cut Regina ip Sunglimmer off from the House, as a way to protect the location of the amulet.

Current presumption is that the Empty Circle attacked the House, possibly as a reprisal for Lady Dara's failure to supply the Heart of the Endless Sea to them as requested, possibly as an attempt to retrieve same.
