Aurora's Prophecy
For Aeon have they slept,
Forgotten and Forsaken
And from their ageless sleep
The dreamers now awaken. The woman eye shall lead
Come to show the way with sight
With her comes knowledge true
And the first of many lights.Begat of light and dark
Midwife from beyond the pale
A child comes, newborn
With eyes that pierce the veil.A merry prank, he thought,
The gamble he couldn't win
Wakes he now to frolic,
or redeem an age-old sin?Within a sleepy vale
There lies the lion royal
His virtue spread like seedlings
It takes root within that soil.Turn to her, ye weary
And she shall give you rest
Her passion and her love
The home fire warms you best.Treachery destroyed them
They could never fall to war
Sword hand reaches empty
It awaits a falling star.
Meanings by Paragraph
- This one is fairly obvious; the gods have been asleep and are now awakening.
- Aurora the Insightful, the avatar of Mehana is the first to return; she brings back the first of the constellations (remember, there were no stars during most of the campaign).
- Landor Forester, the avatar of Phealas, is next. See his page for how it applies.
- Telemore switched the avatar of the god of war and the god of the sun, Malicean, as a prank. It backfired spectacularly. Aurora asks the question, is he returning to cause more trouble, or redeem that poor choice?
- Crustan slept at GreyDove Farm for centuries; his divine spark was scattered to the winds and became the source of druidic power. With the ascension of Bannoc OakenShield, that power returned to the source.
- Nevari returned when Dame Aelen Wyer forcibly offered succor to thousands of orcish refugees.
- Bak-Ta-Thut could never have fallen directly in war; only Telemore's treachery could have destroyed him/them. Outside the gates of Haven, there is a 'sculpture' of a hand, reaching to the sky. The falling star refers to any one of the three known (or other unknown) starfall weapons: Wassen Ster, Dalende Ster, or Skyfall. Should one of them be brought to that location, it would be claimed by the hand and mark the return of the avatar of the gods of war to Crescent.
