Evensong

Briefly a member of the Companions of the Rising Sun, Evensong was a celestial being sent by Hagar and Uriel Lochevsky to guard Sir Jericho Templar from harm, in the aftermath of Glory Exultation.

His full name translates roughly as "The song of mourning played at sunset when a young woman receives news that her lover, separated from her by duty, has been slain."

Evensong is an Oath of Devotion Paladin, with the Protection fighting style, who mostly hid in Jericho's shadow and only came out to defend him against harm. He also sang in the celestial language to Jericho, telling his ward what was where in the surrounding area - a sort of holy echolocation. He also sang harmony when Jericho performed, if requested (he sings a mellow bass).

Evensong is now employed by the Athenaeum for Spiritual Harmony as Jericho's administrative assistant and occasional bodyguard.
